Custom Power

Based on your current health condition and mobility needs, a customized chair may be the best option for you. Custom power wheelchairs offer features like power tilt, recline, and elevating leg rests for pressure relief and circulation, adjustable seating and positioning, specialty controls such as head, chin, or sip-and-puff, and all-terrain, heavy-duty bases for added stability. These chairs are often appropriate for conditions such as ALS, multiple sclerosis, spinal cord injury, and cerebral palsy. Your providers and our Assistive Technology Professional (ATP) will guide you through the full evaluation, documentation, and fitting process to create a chair that is tailored to your needs, lifestyle, and comfort. Custom powerchairs are typically covered by Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance when medical necessity is documented.

Standard Power

A standard powerchair can be determined as medically necessary by your provider if your mobility needs have changed and you require assistance with activities of daily living. Standard power wheelchairs are a great fit if you can maintain your own positioning but need help getting around safely, indoors or out. They offer a compact turning radius for tight spaces, a comfortable ride for daily errands and appointments, and battery ranges built for a full day of use. On average, we deliver standard powerchairs within three weeks of approval. Like custom chairs, standard powerchairs are typically covered by Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance when medical necessity is documented, and we'll work directly with your provider and insurance plan to keep the process simple.
